@morninkaufy: Week 2 complete as I gear up for 12 ultras in 2026 Into week 3 focused more than ever #Running #foryou #marathon #runtok #runcommunity @Strava @Precision Fuel & Hydration @ASICS @Garmin Connects @Oakley @Gymshark
I’m curious what your heart rate zones are? You preach the ditch zone 2 and do zone 3 instead but I’m curious what your zones are based on the karvonen method ie HR max and resting HR. I think a lot of people think they are in zone 2 but in reality are zone 1 especially if they just do the generic 60-70% of HRmax is zone 2. For example my “zone 2” is 73-79% of my max heart rate if done with the karvonen method. Is that what you use?

I Been training for a half marathon about 3–4 months. My peak was late Aug–early Sept — could do 15 km at race pace. Lately though I’ve felt tired and slower, so last week I just did easy Zone 2–3 runs.
Now I’ve got 3 weeks till race day — what do you think’s better?
A) Chill this week, recover more, then do speed work next week and taper the last week.
B) Start speed work now and taper 2 weeks before the race.

Ripping 20+ miles minimum on my sunday long runs now. Worked my way up from 10-13 miles being my long run all the way to minimum 20. Just ripped 21 miles for my long run this past sunday. You are right thats what discipline feels like!

i know this isn’t fully related but just wanted to pick your brain abit lol, so my coach gave me a new plan right, changed up my pace zones and everything, said i should focus on time instead of distance and he wants my easy pace as baseline to drop from my usual 5:30-6:00 m/km pace down to 5:00 m/km as my easy pace and said that in order to learn how to run faster i have to actually run faster and force my body to adapt, but i have no idea how i’m going to run at that as my baseline easy pace and push even harder for speed sessions, i just won’t be able to sustain those faster paces for prolonged periods of time, let alone picking up any injuries due to the intensity, which i guess is why i’m focusing on time and not distance but yeah it feels like he’s asking me for the impossible over here i won’t lie 😭✌🏾

Idk how people can work all day and run 100 miles a week plus lift. For me I have to choose run or lift. I guess I could run on the treadmill, but that sucks.
