Berserk is a dark fantasy epic created by Kentaro Miura, first published as a manga in 1989. The story follows Guts, a lone mercenary branded with a cursed mark that attracts demons to him every night. He travels a brutal, medieval-inspired world filled with war, betrayal, and supernatural horrors. The manga is widely considered a masterpiece, known for its intricate artwork, deep psychological themes, and unflinching exploration of trauma, ambition, and human will. The plot is divided into three major arcs. The Black Swordsman arc introduces Guts as a vengeful hunter of demonic apostles.
