@coffeewithsimon: In Episode 7 of Quiet Productivity at Work, I’m sharing the simple system I use to manage my to-do list — and it lives right inside my inbox. From prioritizing my MITs to tracking follow-ups, this 4-section method keeps my day organized without any extra tools or noise. It’s the calmest productivity system I’ve ever used — and it takes less than a minute to set up. 💭 I spend most of my day in email anyway, so it only makes sense to keep my to-do list there. It’s not just convenient — it’s strategic. 💡 Bonus: My favorite part? Linking files directly inside each task so everything lives together — no tabs, no searching. 🧋 Give this video a heart if it helped you. 🔔 Follow for more ways to build a quietly rich and successful career. #careeradvice #careertips #workproductivity #productivity #productivitytips
Love this approach, genius. keeping your to-do list in your inbox makes so much sense if you’re already living there all day. I’ve been doing something similar but added WorkBeaver into the mix latelyc it handles the routine follow-ups or reminders I’d normally track manually. It’s like having a quiet assistant that keeps your inbox workflow running lol

1 OneNote page per day, capture all there, and ToDos from tasks works great

Always have a clear inbox, flag any emails with a to-do and uncheck when completed and sort. Pen and paper to-do list bullet journal style for any non-urgent tasks outside of email requests. Done.

This is so funny, I use an email draft as well. My headings are: to do; waiting for; tracking; someday/maybe - as inspired by GTD

Doesnt it take too much time to manage this and keep track of the tasks, taking time away from actually doing the taks? Also, how do you ensure that incomplete tasks are being carried forward into the next day?

I tried this today and found it very easy to incorporate into my workflow. I’ve been looking for a great to do app and after this I’ve discovered that maybe I don’t need one. This simplifies the process and keeps me in control. Using it right in Outlook makes it accessible on my phone without having to search through countless notes. Looking forward to more great ideas! Thank you, Simon!

So elegant. Where does your master to do (or active projects) list live? What feeds this list? Thank you for sharing!

“This is brilliant, Simon 🙌 Do you keep one running email thread for your priorities or create a new one daily?

I find doing this in excel is the best, have a column called status and have a drop down in the cell to pick the status, helps me stay organized so easily

simplicity is the highest grade of sofistication, love the method man! Will give it a try, quick question, do you leave in your drafts or do you send somewhere like a personal email to review weekly to get your wins?
