@steven: Should you be doing high-intensity workouts every day? Dr Stacy Sims and Dr Vonda Wright explain why women need to train differently, especially around menopause. Understanding your hormones and building in proper rest can make your workouts more effective and sustainable long-term. Do you think women should train the same way men do? #health #podcast #womenshealth #period #menopause
And this is why I weight train 3x per week, and I am in the best shape of my life.

So what specific exercises are considered moderate intensity? Can you give examples of what we SHOULD be doing instead of just saying general info of what we shouldn’t do?

This needs some clarity on what a high intensity workout looks like versus a low intensity workout.

according to chat gpt, mid life women should do 2x a week heavy weight training, 2 cardio days, one gentle fitness day like yoga.

Low intensity = walking, yoga
High intensity = weight training, interval training
Moderate intensity = brisk walk, bike ride on level ground - you are sort of out of breath

I do heavy lifting 3-4x a week, 2 lots of sprint interval training a week and 1 reformer pilates class a week. I also jump 20 times a day. I'd say at 43 I'm in reasonable shape.

OMG I’m so confused - 53 and in perimenopause. I have worked out my entire life. Yes, I know the things that worked before just don’t work now, but what works? I’ve read running isn’t good in peri, so I dialed that back significantly. I’ve read lift heavier, and now I look like a linebacker. Lost all definition! I just wish it wasn’t so hard 😩

I’m 44- I’m running 30 mins on treadmill 6 days a week in the gym, plus bike for 10 mins….then I come home and lift moderate weights for 20 mins. Am I doing it right?? 👀
