Your £2k take home estimate is not realistic. Let’s assume most people living at home are ‘young’. On an apprenticeship they might be netting £1250 / month, on minimum wage £1600. There’s your 500 saving gone.

Anyone who lives with their parents needs to realise this. I’m 20 live with my parents I pay 200 as my rent and make around 3k after tax save half my wage every month. Looking at buying a house next year to rent out as a casual income

bills aren’t that much? monthly after tax i get 1.2, 500 goes on car (doesn’t include fuel and the average garage costs), 200 on food, 300 on rent, where is my left over? oh on fuel, clothes i need, presents for birthday etc, phone contract, tv subscriptions 😂
