Australian here. Our Medicare costs 3.5% of our income every year, charged to every Australian — and this means that none of us have to ever worry about things such as “medical debt”. It’s not a radical position, as all other advanced economies except USA do the same.

Sadly, both parties are bought by AIPAC and/or corporations. There are few democrats like Bernie, AOC, and Mamdani that aren’t beholden to anyone,but their constituents that supported them through the campaign. That’s the difference and we need to start helping those that do not want to a puppet of the machine/system that isn’t working for the poor/working/middle class. It’s perfect for the millionaires/billionaires, because it’s their machine/system.

The reason why the ACA relies on the private insurance companies is because of the Republicans. They would not let the ACA pass by adding a private company or allowing us to expand Medicaid for everyone. They had to take that part out in order to get it passed.

I totally understand your views, and I agree with most of them. BUT I would like to point out that Obamacare did originally have a public option...it was stripped because Republicans would never have allowed it to pass.

People who aren’t super tapped into politics don’t use political terms the same way. People like there term centrist because they think it means they’re reasonable. A lot of people also have wildly diverging policy positions on a lot of issues.

He actually cares. He is natural interacting with people like a human. He may be bought off by the billionaires but it isn't obvious if he is. How is it so hard for people to understand that. I heard a great quote today, "how can you advocate for me when you wear a Rolex and have never been in a grocery store."

Yes. Perhaps people are waking up to the idea that the things people need to exist in a society should be public goods provided by the govt (schools, parks, prisons, healthcare, food safety and countless other services) or at least heavily regulated such as housing costs. Housing shouldn’t be an investment vehicle for corporations.
