i want to do everything, and somehow that often results in me doing nothing i think this is something a lot of ambitious people struggle with. when there are so many different paths you could take, it can feel like there has to be one objectively “right” choice. so you keep thinking about every possible outcome, what you might regret, what you could be giving up, and whether there’s something better you should be doing instead I have definitely spent way too much time trying to optimize decisions that I realistically could never have had enough information to perfectly make one of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever heard was during my microsoft internship when someone asked a VP how you know if you’re choosing the right path in life. she said, “pick a path, and then make it the right one” I still think about that all the time because I used to think the hard part was figuring out which path was right. but so much of what determines where a decision takes you is what you actually do after you make it obviously some decisions deserve a lot of thought. money matters, stability matters, and there are choices that have very real consequences. but I also think there’s a point where thinking stops being useful and you can only learn what you need to learn by actually doing something and I constantly have to remind myself that most choices are not as permanent as they feel in the moment. you can try something, learn from it, change your mind, and choose something different most of the time you aren’t choosing the rest of your life. you’re just choosing what you’re going to do next i’ll be sharing more about figuring out my own next steps and building a career + life that feels like mine - follow if you’re figuring it out too :) #computerscience #internship #student #mindset
