I had Moh’s surgery to remove Basal Cell Carcinoma which left me with 60 stitches and lots of trauma. When I saw my face for the first time with all those stitches I contemplated ending my life. I didn’t recognize myself and the shock was overwhelming.   If you’re going through this, if you’re recovering from surgery or you were just in an accident, I understand exactly how you feel. It’s scary and you might be thinking that you will never recover and you will never look like yourself again.   ⚠️I am not a medical professional.   ⚠️This is NOT sponsored content.   I am just a person who had 60 stitches in her face and never thought I was going to look like myself again. So, I know what you’re going through, and I wish someone had given me a step-by- step guide on how to heal my scar.   Here’s everything I did over the last 3 years to heal my scar part 5, in a 5-part series 👉🏼If you haven’t watched part 1, here it is @Anna Papalia watch it first and here’s part 2 @Anna Papalia and part 3 @Anna Papalia 👈🏼 After healing and applying silicone scar products, like tapes and gels I massaged my scar every night. A scar takes a year to heal. After a year I got 2 laser treatments. Silicone is great for smoothing out a scar and laser reduces the redness. Ideally your scar should not be red, and it will eventually turn into what looks like a fine line. There are a lot of things that can minimize fine lines. My dermatologist prescribed me Tretinoin for my scar. It hydrates my scar and plumps it up to make it almost invisible. Tretinoin is a topical retinoid used mainly for acne and photoaging (sun-damaged skin), including fine wrinkles and dark spots. It works by increasing skin cell turnover and slowing how quickly damaged skin cells are removed.  Personally, I would never get filler or Botox on a scar. I will make a separate post about SPF.
