@sarahnautics: Full video @ 🔗 in bio. Just wanted to share a little reflection after my recent emergency. Remember, I’m a real person dealing with real situations here. It’s super easy to sit back and nitpick from your couch, but trust me, it was intense. I freaked out a bit (who wouldn’t?) but I’m proud of how I handled a tough situation. I’ve already nitpicked myself beyond belief. But also, I made some solid calls! Turned around in just over 5 seconds and stayed calm despite the nerves. Long story short, everything worked out, but I’ll admit it wasn’t smooth sailing. Just remember, it’s easy to critique from the sidelines! Sharing both the wins and the struggles because we can all learn from each other. #EmergencyLanding

I’m not a pilot so I don’t know any nuances here but it sounds like you reacted quickly, were able to communicate calmly and clearly, and most importantly got yourself safely on the ground. I hope you feel good about that!

Damn Sarah, nicely done. I've landed on a freeway in Los Angeles from a full power loss, and can attest to how hard it is to think straight when things go sideways. You did a great job just locking in, saving the "oh shits" for until you were on the ground. Bravo.

Just wanted to come back to this video and mentioned I utilized it to show excellent decision making and calmness during an ACTUAL emergency teaching my PPL student today. Glad you're alright and wonderful decision making!

Wow. Wouldn’t have known there was an emergency if you hadn’t announced it. That’s flying the plane

Everything I’ve ever heard from pilots is that in emergencies you aviate first and it sounds like you got on the ground safely so I fail to see AAANNNYYY problems here
