I refuse to participate in those activities. At my company they also asked for donations for gifts for bosses and for charities and I also don’t participate in that either.

I just don’t go to the holiday party. My company is doing white elephant after a 3 year hiatus. Last time, I ended up taking my own gift because evrything else sucked. Employers should GIVE ppl credit to buy gifts if they care about “building company culture” so bad. I’m not spending my own money on my coworkers!

Omg my boss wants to do one and I don’t even want to participate. It’s ridiculous why can’t they give all the employees gift cards and thank them for their work throughout the year.

I manage an office and one of our junior staff asked if we could do one🙈 I was like uhhh this is a little last minute leading up to our Christmas party - maybe next year. Like I do not need someone else to shop for!

I hate that we have a white elephant gift exchange and the top paid executive in the office said we need to have a "min/max" on the dollar amount so people don't bring cheap gifts.
