I don’t know what the solution is to this but I fear at some point someone is going to be seriously hurt or worse in Gatlinburg. And it will be because of the people who have fed and approached these bears. Once they lose their natural fear of humans and begin to see them as a source of food they become unpredictable and dangerous. Sadly it’s already been tragic for 20 bears this year alone. At the very least there should be harsh penalties for anyone who approaches or feeds them. Gatlinburg needs to get this under control before a human tragedy happens.

So, apparently (and this could be incorrect), the bears have acres of land for themselves, and the reason for this pal being here is from tourists feeding them when they shouldn’t. It makes the bears go for easier food rather than fish or berries.
