more info: I have basically exhausted the search for jewelers by the name of “Lisa Wood”. I found many, but none that make pieces anything like this one, or even anything made of similar looking material. I believe this piece is AT LEAST pre-Y2K based on other pieces I own from early 1900s.

I'm so surprised you've never seen this type of clasp before. It's pretty common on bracelets and necklaces alike. Nonetheless, I hope you find some info on this!

I can be wrong but I think it’s a Victorian dog collar, they often were worn in high status houses and they were also mostly bronze which makes sense. The hand clasps were also common in the victorian era

The object in the image is a pendant or charm depicting a Chinese guardian lion, commonly referred to as a Fu Dog or Foo Dog.

Google reverse image search brought up a match for the pendants on Etsy, if you can get a good clear photo of the mark on the back you might be able to Google lens something more useful though

Looks like it’s Victorian inspired for sure (the style of the lions- the hands remind me of Victorian hand belts- possibly made of bronze or brass) but the marking looks newer but I have seen that kind of closure in like 30-50s jewelry- present day

That kind of clasp is common on bracelets and lady’s watches. Never seen it on a necklace before though

That type of clasp is common on watches now. If I can find my mom's watch I can show it.
