Why use standard lumber for blocking on a treated deck? Wouldn't it be the first place to fail?

Don’t face the end grain if your backing/flat block toward the sky. Small pieces like that rot so fast when the end grain is pointed to the sky.

it will last longer, only if you tape the tops of the doubled joists. all decks, I demo actually rot from the inside out, as they cannot dry out in between.

amazon has 3/8 stainless lags cheap. any length. I buy multiple sizes and my drill drives em easy after I pilot a hole. my ledger, most mains. my handrail posts. quick.
