Absolutely, early mobilization is critical. It’s also worth considering early involvement of SLP for speaking-valve trials, respiratory muscle strength training, and the cognitive-linguistic components of delirium, all of which can directly impact participation, safety, and overall functional recovery. We like co-treating too.

Love this! We had a nurse who was nervous about allowing us to move a pt who was on a vent & on CRRT, even though we had moved the same pt with a previous nurse the day prior. We had the nurse in the room with us the entire session & she was amazed how well the pt did. Ixve noticed it's sometimes a comfort to family when they see their family members move despite being attached to machines.
