But why is “global black identity” just other black people using and enjoying black American identities and culture but that does not really happen vice versa at the same scale across the diaspora? Everyone exploits black American culture globally to the point that it feels as tho it is common and for everyone— but black Americans do not have the freedom to claim and appropriate/“appreciate”/exchange other black culture in the same way. I’m sure this videos must just be for engagement because it does not take much to understand where black Americans are coming from on this.

Why can’t you just say we borrowed a word that doesn’t really apply to your country? It’s not a bad thing, but it would be like an American rapper saying “King Charles can’t stop me”, it may sound good it the flow but it makes no sense because Charles isn’t our King. It’s not really about AAVE vs MLE it’s them taking an American term, that doesn’t apply to them, and using it.
