Meanwhile, these are the people running the federal government. Not a drunk group chat. Not South Park. Not an abandoned Veep script. The United States government. We’re fighting Canada, renaming lakes, losing propaganda battles to waterfowl, accidentally comparing the president to Hitler and apparently policing whether comedians have sufficiently respected the president’s waistline. And we’re doing all of this while engaged in an actual war. There simply isn’t enough satire left.
