@thecultureexplorer: Derinkuyu forces an uncomfortable question. If people a thousand years ago could build this without steel or electricity, what exactly have we gained while losing the ability to build for endurance, secrecy, and community? Eight levels underground. Carved by hand. Homes, kitchens, churches, wells, air shafts, and doors weighing tons that could be sealed from the inside. This was not fear-driven panic. This was long-term thinking. Up to 20,000 people could live here for months without sunlight, smoke, or chaos. Fresh air traveled through vertical shafts engineered with brutal precision. Livestock stayed below ground. Water stayed clean. Sound stayed contained. No technology. No machines. Just planning, discipline, and a deep understanding of survival. Derinkuyu is a reminder that resilience used to be a skill, not a slogan.

MandaLB :
I think less afraid and more resourceful. We know so little now and yet think we are the most intelligent. Technology doesn’t make people smarter, it makes them complicit and lazy. Easy to control.
