look up the law. I'm a contractor and I know that you do not have the right to take back your work or what you perceive to be your property. you can place a lien against the home. you can go to court but you cannot take the materials back

I have been through this larger scale. You can’t take the grass the way you did. That is property damage and you will be held accountable. Been there done that.

if the ground isn't nutrient rich the grass won't be able to grow as well even if you do water it. depends on the nutrients in the ground if the grass can take Root.
