So many things wrong with this story: why would he park his work vehicle in the driveway? We have a take home vehicle and we have to park it in the garage. Then, I’ve never gone in the back of the vehicle. I’ve gone in the trunk part and the front to grab things but I would have no reason to go into the back. Why would he go to sleep if his wife wasn’t in bed? I used to work 6 pm to 6 am and when I got home I would crawl in bed as everyone else was getting up. I would have noticed if any member of my family wasn’t where they were supposed to be.

Why she was back there is irrelevant. That's her husband's take home car, It's not weird for her to go into it. This case drew attention to what's important; the SAFETY features of police vehicles, which are designed to keep arrestees secure. Same thing happened to an arrestee, but he was discovered by another officer in time.
