I feel like a lot of straight ships are complex (at least when it comes to the fandoms I'm a part of). It's just that the fandom waters their relationships down into "girlboss x male wife". Imo fandoms tend to water down complex relationships into basic stereotypes with practically every ship regardless of gender/sexuality though. It's not something that exclusively happens to straight ships.
