It’s very well known around Tullamore the motives of the killing. John and his family were land owning Protestants, and his family hated Fiona because she was a Catholic. They actually never even let her visit the farm the entire time they were going out. That’s probably why the Thompsons got rid of her. Also rumours of a UVF connection.

This young lady’s story is so sad and I hate it for her family and friends. 💔 However, when you say “start a family” the girlfriend/boyfriend weren’t yet family. How can they “start a family” when they aren’t family yet themselves??? I will never understand this concept.

This was a huge case in Ireland as she was one of 6 women who all disappeared within a geographical triangle shaped area in the 90’s.There was lots of talk about a serial killer but in at least 3 or 4 of the cases there is a suspect who was known to the victim .Their bodies have never been found so there is not enough evidence to arrest them .A special task force was set up to investigate the 6 cases but nothing came of it .There is a dig going on at the moment in regard to the 2 women whose disappearance is being linked to a convicted rapist

you should do one on sophie toscan du plantier. she was a french woman who loved staying in the quiet of west cork. 2 days before Christmas in 1996 she was found murdered at the end of her driveway. there wasn't enough evidence to convict the main suspect and everyone is very 50/50 about it
