Even outside Eritrea, critics of the government can face intimidation and pressure from Eritrean authorities. This is not just about one problem. It is the loss of freedom, the loss of family, the loss of education, the loss of opportunity and the constant fear of being punished for speaking, worshipping, refusing forced service or simply trying to live freely. Eritreans deserve freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of movement, freedom from forced labour, fair trials, humane treatment, democratic government and the right to live without fear.
