We don't repair aircraft onboard in port. We crane them off pier side at our home port.

Nah if they NRFI they still come off the boat. Usually there’s a rotation of things. Even the vehicles on the ship have to get serviced.

when the GW came back all of course jets came back to the squadron about 2 weeks or so early, one was left behind due to a critical failure (IPP fire) and was repaired on board for the next few days before being flown home. even with all the packing and rush those last few days were hell for the crew, 12 hour days of doing nothing but sitting around packing tools, taking inventory, and prep work which was all done within the first 2 days. doing nothing is fun till you literally can DO NOTHING
