Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8½×4½-inch loaf pan. 2. Rub the lemon zest into the sugar with your fingertips until fragrant. 3. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. 4. In a separate bowl, whisk the melted butter, lemon sugar, eggs, sour cream, milk, lemon juice, vanilla, and lemon extract. 5. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients just until no dry streaks remain. Don’t overmix. 6. Pour into the loaf pan and smooth the top. 7. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. 8. While it bakes, combine the lemon juice and sugar for the syrup. 9. Let the loaf cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then poke small holes over the top and brush on the syrup a little at a time until absorbed. 10. Cool completely before glazing. 11.
