I truly don’t understand why no one talks about the long delays in the I-730 family reunification process. Many of us have been separated from our families for five years or more. We cannot bring our loved ones to the United States, and we also cannot safely travel to see them. Even getting a travel document can take years, and many countries still refuse visas for it. Returning to our home countries is not safe for many of us because of political reasons. Please put yourself in our place. Could you stay away from your spouse and children for even one year? Immigrants are human too. We deserve the chance to live with our families. We respectfully ask those in power to show compassion and help reunite families.
