JAMES HOLDER CHELTENHAM RAPE CONVICTION AND SENTENCING In 2026, then 54-year-old James Holder, of Cheltenham, was jailed for eight years after carrying out a predatory assault on a woman in her own home. The investigation established that the offence occurred in May 2022 after Holder returned to the victim’s flat following a night out. The prosecution reported at Gloucester Crown Court that after the woman refused his requests to join him in bed, Holder forcibly pulled her from the living room and raped her, identifying a total abandonment of human decency by the then 54-year-old. The investigation established that Holder’s series of behaviour involved a calculated violation of the victim's
The investigation established that Holder’s series of behaviour involved a calculated violation of the victim's "dignity and body" in a place where she should have been safe. The prosecution reported that Holder denied the charges, forcing the survivor to relive the trauma of the assault through a full jury trial. This identifies a priority assault on the life-safety of the public, as the victim stated in a powerful impact statement that the attack has "cast shadows" over her relationships and her ability to trust others. JUDICIAL SENTENCING AND VICTIM SURVIVOR IMPACT The court reported that Holder was found guilty by a jury last week. The investigation established that Holder appeared via video link at Bristol Crown Court for his sentencing on May 7, 2026. The prosecution reported that Recorder David Chidgey imposed a custodial term of eight years, identifying a priority assault by the court to mandate that Holder serve at least two-thirds of the sentence behind bars before being considered for release. The survivor told the court: "I am still here, still standing, still reclaiming every part of myself you tried to take." For his actions in Cheltenham and across Gloucestershire, and the nature of the rape, physical coercion, and the violation of domestic safety investigations reported, James Holder was documented as a maximum-risk predator. The investigation established that his forensic profile as a convicted rapist who targeted a woman in her own home is now a matter of permanent record. STATUS AND CASE DETAILS (2022–2026) Based on judicial and Gloucestershire Constabulary records as of 2026: Legal Status: CONVICTED (Rape; Sexual assault context). Custodial Status: JAILED (In 2026, sentenced to 8 years in prison; must serve at least two-thirds). Offence Nature: Raped a woman in her own flat after she explicitly refused his advances; utilised physical force as a mechanical necessity to overpower the victim; committed the offence in May 2022; forced the survivor through a trial by denying the truth of his actions; caused deep-seated psychological trauma impacting the victim's future relationships. Timeline of Case: Offence occurred May 6, 2022; Found guilty April 2026; Sentenced May 7, 2026. Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire; Bristol. Forensic Profile: The 54-year-old male; forensic history documents a "violent and predatory" intent; identified as an offender who "took what was never his." Financial Penalties: Ordered to pay £5,000 towards prosecution costs plus a victim surcharge. Sex Offenders Register: Notification requirements are active FOR LIFE. Judicial Oversight: Presided over by Recorder David Chidgey. Criminal Record: Registered sex offender; Serial predator (behavioural); Violent offender; Jailed in 2026. Origin: Cheltenham. James Bodenham London Paedophile Offender James Bodenham, the paedophile child molester who was previously given an eight-and-a-half-year term for child rape, gets imprisoned again for failing to sign up for the sex offenders list. James Bodenham, 26, sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl he had met in Addiscombe in March of 2014. When the victim did not return from a visit to a relative on March 1, her parents called the police. Soon after, in a state of panic, she went home and told detectives that a man she had met earlier that day had sexually assaulted her. Detectives found a man who fit the girl's description on CCTV footage and shared the picture with local police officers. One of them recognised James Bodenham as a biker he had stopped weeks earlier. When James Bodenham was arrested on March 19 at his home, the clothing that the girl's attacker was wearing was seized by the police. He was charged with two counts of rape following the analysis of DNA samples. He was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison at the Old Bailey after admitting guilt to one charge and having the other recorded as a lie. On March 1, 2023, 36-year-old James Bodenham was released from prison after serving out his entire sentence. But within three days of his release, he failed to show up at a police station to register as a sexual offender. He was caught in Lambeth on November 8 with cannabis. He appeared at Croydon Magistrates' Court on November 9 and guilty to possessing a Class B drug and breaking the conditions for sex offender registration. On Tuesday, November 28, James Bodenham was due to be sentenced at Inner London Crown Court. But according to an HMP Thameside officer, he was unable to appear in court because he had
