White taramas is better than pink. And pink can be delicious. Most important ingredient is olive oil, so in Crete you can expect expert quality. Still, of course calories count the same 😉😁...

Today all around Greece/Hellas we celebrate Clean Monday. It’s the beginning of forty days of fasting. It’s a religious tradition for most Greeks. We gather all together relatives, friends, family, loved ones and eat, drink and have a nice time. Some traditional dishes for this special, holy occasion are white or pink “Taramas”, which is actually something like cream with caviar, fish, octopus, a special bread called “Lagana”, olives 🫒 etc. except meat. It’s a feeling not only a simple traditional thing we need to go through. It means a lot for the Greek family and culture.
