I shouldn’t have to explain myself, but since my birth story video has gained so much traction, I feel the need to explain a few things. when I posted this video I didn’t think so many people would see it so I didn’t add any context to it, not saying I should’ve had because nobody is entitled to my life but I get when you make something public people will have their own opinions/questions. Everyone is assuming my husband is the worst person on earth for not being there when I gave birth to our child and that’s simply not the case. This was baby number 3. We don’t have a village and we don’t feel comfortable leaving our young children with strangers. That doesn’t mean we love or care about our youngest baby any less than we do of our other children. This was not an easy decision to make, for obvious reasons. Of course, I would have loved for my husband to be by my side while I was giving birth, but unfortunately, we didn’t have anyone else to help us. People have even questioned how I could not trust a babysitter when a father himself could potentially hurt his own children. I can’t speak for everyone else’s husband, but I know mine. My husband would give up his own life to protect our children. He has literally put himself in danger to protect his family. He was assaulted by two men who tried breaking into our home, and he ended up needing stitches. He put himself on the line to protect us. So no, I do not believe my husband would ever hurt our children. I know the kind of father he is, and I will not let strangers on the internet convince me otherwise simply because he couldn’t be present for one moment. We were fortunate enough to have his mother there for us when I gave birth to our second baby. Unfortunately, this time, things were different, and we had to make a difficult decision based on the circumstances we were facing. I also keep seeing people say that this should be a sign that we shouldn’t have any more children. Yes, being present for the birth of your child is important. I would have loved to share that moment with my husband. But being a parent is about so much more than being present for one moment. It’s about being there when your children are sick, taking them to appointments, birthdays, holidays, comforting them when they need you, showing up for them every day, and watching them grow up. Those are the moments that build a lifetime of memories, love, and security. Our circumstances were not ideal, and I wish things had been different. But we made the best decision we could with the situation we were given. And to everyone saying we shouldn’t have any more children because of this: we will not let strangers on the internet dictate how many children we choose to have. I will continue to have more babies with or without him being present at the actual birth. That does not mean I don’t want him there, and it certainly doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to be there. It means that sometimes life doesn’t go according to plan, and parents have to make difficult decisions. You are allowed to have your opinions, but you do not know our family, our circumstances, or the decisions we have had to make behind closed doors. Please stop judging our entire marriage and his entire character based on one moment you saw on the internet. ❤️ #childbirth #brunomars #newborn #baby #girlmom
