This is true for most careers. I’m a 20-year teacher. I’ve definitely gotten jobs because I know people. It’s called reputation building. If you’re good at what you do, whatever that may be, opportunity will find you.

its very true lol I just went from drilling water wells for a man i met at church, and now I'm working in hvacc for my brother who just started a company, he doesn't trust anyone else to work for him lol

My Dad was an electrician He was part of IBEW which is the electrician's union in Seattle There was a line at the hall and companies were supposed to hire whoever was at the front no matter who they were, but he would just call someone he knew and they'd make a requisition so insanely specific, he'd be the only person qualified just to pull him to the front so he never had to wait in line for work because everyone knew that he solved problems really really fast
