@holixtic: Somewhere along the way we were taught: Tighter = better. Tighter = stronger. Tighter = more desirable. Not true!! If a muscle is always tight, it’s not strong. It’s actually weak. Your pelvic floor is a muscle. If it can’t fully relax, that’s a problem. A tight pelvic floor can cause: • painful seggs • leaking • constipation • tailbone or hip pain The definition of a healthy muscle is when it can move through their full range. Strength means you can contract and relax. If you walked around clenching your fist all day, your hand would hurt and stop working properly. Same thing with your pelvic floor. If you’re gripping all day and can’t let go, you’ll have issues — just like someone who’s actually too lax. Tight doesn’t automatically mean strong. Softness isn’t weakness. Real strength is balancing opposites. #pelvicfloordysfunction #over40women #pelvichealth
