He lived so long without human love and interaction. He wants to be close, he just doesn’t know how. Try sitting and don’t acknowledge him and let him come near you without you “noticing”. Just act like you don’t see him as he comes close to check you out. I’d also pick him up at random times and cuddle him for small amounts of time and then put him back down softly.. he will get used to it more and more and look forward to it. Animals just need lots of love and patience. Thank you so much for taking him in! People that help animals are the best kind.❤️🩹

Do exactly that- let him smell you and let him back away. He will eventually start rubbing against your hand. Just take it at his pace. ❤️I’ve rescued a million cats over the years. He looks like he’s really been through it ☹️
