@leahshomestead: Processing meat animals is never a light topic — and apparently the method you choose can be even more controversial than raising them. We use a hopper popper because it’s consistent, controlled, and removes hesitation. When you’re responsible for raising your own meat, the goal isn’t what looks nicest online — it’s what works immediately and reduces mistakes. There are a lot of options out there. This is the one that fits our system, our skill level, and our responsibility as animal owners. You don’t have to do what we do. But if you’re raising meat animals, you do need a method that is quick, repeatable, and humane. Curious what others use and why — always learning. #MeatRabbits #RabbitRaising #HomesteadLife #SelfSufficiency #ProcessingDay

I used the broomstick method once I did it wrong. I bought a hopper popper the next day. I’ll never try another way.

Wish people said "killing" instead of "processing". We're all implicit in taking lives if we eat meat, no point in pretending otherwise.

As a vegetarian, I thank you for being humane. I hate seeing animals suffer when being killed.

too many people making these sort of decisions based on human emotions and optics, not on what is best for the animal.

Aimee Lee (Sam Kerr’s version) :
I get it… I do… it’s the same for any animal used for meat etc… but I could not look an animal like a rabbit in the eyes knowing I’m about to “make it meet its maker”

accurate is fast, fast is humane, humane is ethical, ethically taking of animals is being a friend to nature, 75% of deer hunters can't say they are, because " trophies " and unethical shot placement

The worst thing that can happen when processing meat is a partial failure the first try and knowing there is suffering.
