@brandnat: Perplexity computer vs openclaw. Probably not the best comparison but if you are non technical, don’t want to set up openclaw, want things to get done without clicking on permissions all the time and want multi agent orchestration and have budget to test then it may be worth a try. Otherwise stick to openclaw, Claude code #ai #articialintelligence #brandnat
Yeah Openclaw is cool if you’re into self-hosting, but that’s a bit much for me, Workbeaver already covers what I need and it’s way cheaper than Perplexity $200 plan 🤣

This helps, as a non- technical user I was excited but reluctant to user open-claw. I think I’ll take this route and at $50 a week trick my budget brain into thinkings it just two coffees a day bought for a new co-worker.

I think the major problem with your review is that you've incorrectly installed openclaw on your machine locally (HUGE MISTAKE), and then also using it in a very restricted mode (which you should do if installed locally, but leads to annoying workflow).
Install openclaw in a sandbox (vm is best), tell it configure itself without any exec restrictions.. The use oauth with chatgpt 5.4..
Also Hermes, another great agent seems to be a bit more stable, but same setup.

I'm looking for the best way to extract all my chat history in plain text from all the AI providers I have, then build an Obsidian document with all the chats organized. Do you think computer perplexity is the best choice to do that?

Did you get permission from your users / customers to host their data in systems you’re not in control of? Feels like a privacy nightmare if there is a data breach / leak that can be traced back to you.

I’m building my own version of openclaw with Claude right now. I am apprehensive using cloud storage and ai models without data privacy agreements in place. Relying on using local LLMs wherever I can, local obsidian RAG pipeline, and ultimately API LLM to reduce data privacy exposure. I don’t trust the LLM companies, they make more money with our data than with the subscriptions.

these are different products. you can't do several things in perplexity computer that you can do in openclawn and Hermes. But I agree , if you have a use case that don't need openclawn don't use it .
