Business is very varied and some are much less profitable than others. Also it doesn’t give you “freedom” in ways the internet wants to sell you. If you own a shop, you have to be in it. If you aren’t you’re paying staff costs which are increasing your business costs. Next time you hear this, ask for numbers. Trading scams targeted south Asian youth in the UK because they were vulnerable, looking for a way out, looking for freedom. I get people message me asking “how do you make money” I have a job, a boss and expected to be in a certain place at a certain time and have way more flexibility than when I ran my own business. Maternity leave, sick pay, cover when my kids are ill.
