Season 2 Klaus felt like an ancient, invincible original. A master schemer. Untouchable. Anyone was terrified even speaking his name. Then in season 3 he was foiled, defied, etc. again and again. And as a cherry on top he drew cute horsey picks for Caroline and would pout about her. The only thing that kept me liking Klaus at this point was his concept and Joseph Morgan's performance. I'd take Kevin Williamson's version of Klaus over Julie Plec's all day every day.
