it's clear that if OP's father found out that the third child is biologically theirs and not adopted, then that child will get preferential treatment from the extended family and even inheritance. I honestly wouldn't be surprised is the grandfather would demand for the youngest child to get most of not all family assets if he knew the truth...

I don't think it was so much not wanting to be intimate with each other so much as not wanting to put pressure on trying to conceive a child. that can be incredibly painful especially since she has a condition that makes getting pregnant very unlikely. however, it was also an arranged marriage and at a young age. they probably weren't interested in it at the start but grew to love each other. it sounds like they have excellent communication. and while I do agree that being intimate often is a huge thing for me in my relationship with my husband, I don't think it's acceptable to put that on other people's relationship. abstinence for any reason is valid. especially when you habe young children. my husband and I try to be intimate once a week unless I'm on my period so usually about 3 times a month. but we also have 2 under 3 and sometimes even if we still want to we just don't have the energy. just something to think about.

I don't understand not liking adopted kids. We foster to adopted my youngest brother, he's lived with us since he was six months old, and yet most extended family treat him differently/worse

‘He can’t really treat them much differently now they’re grown’ hmm yeah, like he totally couldn’t cut the 2 adopted grandchildren out of his will, or immediately start referring to the youngest as his ‘real’ grandson and favouring him in other ways (which would absolutely hurt the older 2 despite them being adults)

When I renters the dating game as a single mom this was something that I was keen on … making sure that my future partners family would treat my son as there own even after having more kids … these parents are absolutely doing the right thing !!!
