Being strict isn't always the answer, she clearly didn't comfortable talking to you .kids make outrageous mistakes and yes they should take responsibility but they have never been exposed to whatever adults know and still need to be guided.

As someone who is a parent, was a teen mom, and a Christian: I cannot imagine not having an open line of communication with my kids. I can understand the upset from both sides, I cannot understand a parent turning their back on their own child regardless of the situation.

This is really sad because it doesn't reflect the representation of Christ. He forgave a women that Pharisees wanted to stone to death and we should represent the same love showed on that cross. It is sad that people think this is what is looks like to follow Christ. I pray for their daughter to encounter God herself and that he many show her what true love really is.
