@thecrimedesk: In 2019, 44-year-old photographer and mother of four, Victoria Schafer was taking senior photos at Old Man's Cave, a local hiking trail, when she was struck by a large log, killing her instantly. While she was standing on a staircase below the cliff, two teenage boys pushed a large log from the top of the cliff. The log fell about 75 feet and struck Schafer. Investigators later determined the log had been intentionally pushed and did not fall naturally. After an investigation, the two teens admitted to pushing the log and later pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter. A third teenager, Miranda Spencer, who was with them at the park, was also charged with obstruction of justice for interfering with the investigation. The case drew national attention because a reckless act that may have been intended as a joke resulted in a tragic death and serious criminal consequences. #victoriaschafer
