@amber.moonbeams: We’ve been living a little nostalgic since these kids popped onto planet earth. Not in a “stuck in the past” way. My kids are very much Gen Alpha with plenty of modern technology around them. But our home has a lot of cozy little 90s and early-2000s things woven into everyday life. It’s more of a way of living. Moving a little slower. Not always being in a hurry. Trying not to overconsume, both mentally and physically. Choosing joy and staying a little more analog when we can. Posts like these aren’t meant to shame anyone for living in the modern world. If anything, I hope they feel like permission. Permission to slow down, enjoy cozy moments at home, and build the kind of childhood memories that someday feel nostalgic. You deserve that kind of life too ◡̈

I’m only 19 but I don’t plan on giving my children any access to YouTube or streaming services. I want to bring them up on dvds only which they can have access to at any time. Of course if there is something on streaming services I want to introduce them to or something new that they might enjoy comes out I’ll allow them to watch but in my control. I hate when kids are given free rein of tv remotes to watch brain rot. I will also not be raising no iPad kids or children who can’t go a meal out without being on a device. I engaged in conversations, played games like I spy or boy girl when waiting for food as a kid and I think that’s something I want to do with my children
