Less common. Little guys are going away and big guys aren’t going to be happy waiting around and having their stuff sprayed in marginal conditions.

It’s too expensive to not do everything perfectly why not hire the people that are trained to do it as perfect as possible

We used to spray our own but gave it up. I’ve got too much to plant and roll.

I think for self propelled it’s $130/acre invested into a machine to justify. Pull type is a different story and that’s why I went back to pull type now myself

I could see it. As mentioned - I own a 4920 with 120’ boom. Hired the bean pre this year. Why? Either hire a newbie to run mine or just hire it all and it’s done right where I don’t have to babysit someone

What is the break even point to own a sprayer? Not as a custom applicator but as a farmer

I think alot of farmers are going to prefer going through somebody else for custom app over a retailer. A lot of guys already prefer having a separate advisor for seed

Less around me every one had bought thier own rogator. Co op is getting ridiculous, $9 an acre just to show up when they feel like it. That times 3 trips a year pays for a sprayer fast

I hope it’s less common. I can’t rely on the local coop. That’s why I have my own

The rules and regulations, the price of machines and subscriptions are the reasons I have gotten some work.. but there’s 5 plants around me with 3-4 machines each and about 20 farmer owned machines. Not many acres open up for custom in my general area

I think it’s gonna be more common but in my case I’ve had 2 calls this week from separate coops wan me to help them due to lack of operators

Less common. It was big back in the day in Canada. Eventually it got to the point where everyone has a sprayer and nobody pays custom unless it’s a plane
