What I mean is that I’ve seen people online take a Muslim child wearing hijab or niqab and immediately turn it into a story of “oppression” without knowing anything about that child, her family, or her intention. A child may simply love her mother imitate the women around her or feel proud of her faith yet people assume the worst because it’s Islam. But when children imitate other cultures, clothing or trends it’s suddenly innocent and adorable.
