One question that is often asked is: “What about blade imbalance after blending?” The answer is simple: balance is never left to chance. Engine manufacturers specify the maximum amount of material that can be removed from each blade and also limit the number of repaired blades allowed within a rotor stage. These limits are established to preserve the rotor’s mass distribution and aerodynamic performance without exceeding acceptable vibration levels.
