I had a chance to meet Kevin Conroy and I was able to thank him for making my childhood amazing. There’s an episode “Time Out of Joint” featuring a character named Dr. Wakati. People have butchered my name as long as I can remember. So as a child hearing BATMAN say my name PERFECTLY meant everything to me. Easily a top 5 childhood memory. Random but, still cool.

This is one of the best Batman films ever. I wish they currently wrote Batman movies like this for the big screen that involve the complex emotions shown here as well as the detective work and crime fighting. Showing him crying at his parents’ tombstone saying “I never thought I could be happy”? Absolutely wrecked me. This is just my opinion, but Kevin Conroy’s performance here is one of the best to this day.

It's unbelievable what this movie accomplished in less than 75 min. A true masterpiece. And, since this is the last movie where we will see the Joker this month, I want to say something about the evolution of that character. In many ways the changes in the Joker through the times are as interesting of those of Batman. It started as just a clown to mock Batman, but he has become his true nemesis. When Batman tries to bring order, the Joker is the force of chaos. Mark Hamill's Joker is not a central character in Mask of the Phantasm, but is absolutely iconic. The design is perfect, the dialogue delicious and the delivery is... just sooooo good.
