You’ve prompted me to consider that if communism is the eventual inevitable destination for humans (if capitalism doesn’t kill us first), was capitalism also an inevitable step from feudalism? I mean obviously the reality is that feudalism did lead to capitalism, so the question is a bit moot but was that due to an eventual inevitability? Could the material conditions of feudalism go directly to communism? I know Lenin said it was a necessary step. Maybe I’m getting too caught up in the detail.

Humans are near the bottom of tume spent on shelter, most people dont spend any time at all maintaining shelter. Classifying "working" as toiling for shelter is not fair.. every speciec on earth toils all day for some reason, be it gathering nuts for winter or or termites that literally spends 100% of their time physically directly building a shelter. Humans are not even bear the top of the "toilers" even with capitalism

This is such a bad faith argument. Humans have much more complex housing structures than any other animal. It is asinine to compare a house with electricity and indoor plumbing to a bear den or any other structure in the animal kingdom.

This neoliberal capitalist hellscape is slavery of the majority in all but name. The only reason people are able to remain ignorant of this reality is because the carrot is made obvious but distant, meanwhile a lot of effort is put into maintaining the smoke, the mirrors, the bread and the circuses that make the chains invisible. 🤝

Respectfully, I'm not sure its a great comparison. animals very definitely toil their entire lives to keep shelter for themselves. they rarely have "leisure time" and are in a near constant state of action to sustain themselves. I think the difference is that animals get to keep the full value of their labour, or share it as part of a community. humans always have to give the larger value of their labor to the capitalists.
