Yep shocked me to my bones. 5 months before I got laid off , they gave me 12K bonus for exceptional work. Laid off for 2 years and now have a new job making more money but now im so much more aware of office politics.

I wasn't let go due to personal performance. I was let go due to plant closure and even worse, it was with zero notice. We didnt even get notified until 3 hours after the local news started reporting it. Then to make it worse, the company told the media that they closed because of attendance issues and now all of my former coworkers and myself are blacklisted from many local manufacturers. We wont even get interviews.
