And when your nervous system is in protection mode, itās not focused on growth, connection, or calmāitās focused on survival. 3 SIGNS 1. You overreact⦠then question yourself after Something small happensāand your reaction feels big. Anger, anxiety, shutdown. Then later you think, āWhy did I respond like that?ā Thatās not weaknessāthatās your nervous system detecting danger where there isnāt any. 2. You struggle to relaxāeven when things are fine You finally get a moment to rest⦠and your mind speeds up. You feel restless, on edge, or guilty for slowing down. Thatās because your body has learned that āstillness isnāt safe.ā 3. You avoid, numb, or shut down Procrastination. Scrolling. Zoning out. Or feeling disconnected from people and emotions. Thatās not lazinessāitās a protective response to avoid overwhelm. This isnāt who you are. Itās a pattern your nervous system learned to keep you safe. Start small: Pause. Breathe.
