One thing I want a lot of people to do is get out of this “fake” full ROM where you’re overly arching. Excessive lumbar extension (arching) during movements like lat pulldowns artificially increases visible ROM, but reduces effective tension on the target muscle, especially the lats. I call it “fake ROM” because the movement appears like you’re doing more, but joint contribution is shifted away from the intended muscles toward the spine and passive structures/muscles. Instead of flaring your rib cage up, brace your core and keep your rib cage down, even with a slight lean. CONTROL your eccentric. Let me know how this feels for you.
