sorry to break it to all the tiktok lawyers, but cops can run your tags when they are in public view and if you're driving a vehicle on public roadways. they do not need probable cause or to suspect you of a crime. supreme Court has ruled on this, and it's very easy to Google. whether you agree or disagree with the traffic stop, you need to provide your information. if you disagree with the reason for the stop, you argue that in court. not on the side of the road. unless you want to get arrested, which again they would be well within their rights to do and again is easy to Google.

One of the multiple names bouncing back has a bench warrant or something attached to it. The chief is playing poker he wants to see everything in your hand without showing his hand. Its provide everything and then we will let you know what our reasoning is afterwards at our discretion and then hiding that behind a rhetorical argument loop and statutes you don't have a legal library to look up which might be valid or not have precedent at all.

Sometimes you just have to take the ticket and argue your case in court.

Why did they stop him? Why can’t they just explain the infraction first. The reason for the stop? Then proceed from there. Seems dodgy AF to me.

What’s the big deal? If an officer stops you and asks for your details just give them and be on your way. Creating a unnecessary problem for yourself

The law requires you to present the information. The officer decides when in the process that happens. No reason why cops can’t give you the reason first since they pulled you over
