Stitch with: @getbabytosleep   Does your baby touching their ears send you into panic and rushing to your pediatrician’s office? You’re not alone-I see soooo many parents worried about this! But often, ear tugging is nothing to be concerned about at all.   👶 Here’s why babies might pull at their ears: ✔️ Exploring & Curiosity – Babies are natural explorers, and their ears are just another exciting discovery! They also love grabbing their feet, poking their belly buttons, or even trying to fit their whole hand in their mouth. It’s all part of learning about their bodies! ✔️ Self-Soothing – Just like some babies suck their thumbs, rub a lovey, or twirl their hair, others find comfort in tugging their ears-especially when they’re tired or overstimulated. It can be their way of winding down. ✔️ Teething – Thanks to nerve connections in the face, teething pain can radiate to the ears, making babies instinctively pull at them. Some babies drool and chew everything in sight, while others get extra fussy. Every baby responds to teething differently, and over time, you’ll learn how yours reacts! ✔️ Other Possible Reasons – Some babies touch their ears when they’re adjusting to new sounds, have dry skin or irritation behind the ears, or even when they’re just playing around.   Over time, you’ll start to recognize what’s normal for your baby. If they’ve always pulled at their ears when tired or teething, it’s likely nothing to worry about. But if ear pulling is new and associated with fussiness or the symptoms mentioned in this reel, consider seeing a clinician to rule out an ear infection.   If you want more info on ear infections including more subtle symptoms and when treatment is needed (yes, antibiotics aren't ALWAYS necessary!) head to my YouTube channel (linktree in bio) to watch the video
