Logic. Evidence and analysis. You are a good doctor! If you weren’t of such high value in your present career we could use you in politics!

THIS THIS THIS my wife is large and doctors ALWAYS check her A1C over years she comes back every time at 5.3 while mine as a T1D is 6. I was about to be diagnosed 10y ago as T2D given my age and such mystery around the differences within diabetes and the treatments for each and the literal causes of each. I am so grateful to see you back on my FYP, Dr. Darien 🩵

BMI isnt a measure that is accurate in any way to measure or predict health outcomes. Its should be taken out of the medical field.

There is a term called “metabolically healthy obese” - healthy fat people exist alongside skinny fat people (metabolically unhealthy) - and not everything is as it appears 🤗

As a person that was fat the majority of my life, I can’t tell you how many issues I bright to health care providers who ignored me and just told me to lose weight.

This happened to me recently. I have a knee injury it's a ligament and meniscus issue. My new MD declined to review my past med hx and told me to lose wt, take Tylenol and motrin q6 to 8hrs, and apply ice. After a month of this and the issue getting worse he finally put in a referral to ortho for a mri. I'm still waiting for that appointment cause the VA in NorCal is slow.

My gym friends and parents who do weight resistance training found that as they get stronger, their BMI marked them borderline/overweight. We realised the flaw in BMI calculation!!
